diary of a mad
househusband

about this site, and its perpetrator

This is a repository of rants, raves, ruminations, reminiscences, reflections, and reviews. Primarily, it preserves posts I've perpetrated upon various Internet message boards. I suppose you could say that I lied about the Diary part, though it does reflect some of my thinking on any given day.

I'm not lying, kidding or joking about the Mad Househusband part, though. My name is John Pollock, and for several years, as of this writing, I've been a househusband and stay-at-home father. I'm married to HRH Lee, D.G. Queen of the House, also known in these pages as the Breadwinner. We are the parents of HRH Leo, AKA the Lord ("I am the Lord thy Son; thou shalt have no other gods before me!") and the Heir. We recently moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas after long residence in Houston, which is still home to my daughter, older son, and grandchildren.

My online résumé offers a skeletal, nearly pronoun- and article-free chronology of my existence, and my previous careers as broadcaster, musician, and bartender.

Bedtime Tales For Grownups offers recordings of some of my original poetry, verse, and readings from some of these pages. (Any hear link here takes you to this page, in a new window.) You can also hear some of my music at my MP3.com page.

Troubador Tech, my first Web site, is devoted to tools and tips for people performing music as one-person bands. It is based largely on my personal experience perpetrating music for what I laughingly called my living.

Symmetries by Syrynx is an outpouring of my recursive digital graphics and music. It doesn't reflect my more recent work, because it's a lot more fun to do it than to organize and upload it.

Symmetries - The Store offers you an opportunity to purchase some of my graphics on T-shirts, mugs, and mousepads. You could do this, too.

This site owes its existence to the thoughtful and kind people of the Canada and Friends Forum, and most especially to the forum's Host, Suzan, who seduced me into participating. Some of the writing here appeared first in the Forum.
